THEATRE PRACTICE
25/07/14
Today, our college hosted an engaging program focused on "Theatre practice", aligning with our curriculum. The event offered a unique opportunity to deliver into the realm of theatre practice and its significance in our academic journey. The programme kicked off at 10 am in general hall. The programme was officially initiated by Principal Dr.Roy Sir, marking the beginning of a memorable event. The keynote speaker and main guest was the celebrated Priyatha Bharathan. The programme provided a fantastic opportunity for my peers and me to learn and grow. The morning session commenced with Priyatha ma'am's poem enactment, after which she taught us the art of poem recitation. Then she uttered the word 'woosh' and asked us to interpret and perform it with diverse emotions and style. Following that, she divided the class into groups of four and asked us to collaboratively create and perform a 2-minute drama exploring the theme "Mazha".Each group brought their own interpretation of the theme 'Mazha' to life through their performances delighting the teacher. In the afternoon, we were divided into five groups and tasked by Priyatha ma'am with creating a drama using a fictional, gibberish language. Each group presented a unique concept, making for an enjoyable and engaging performance that impressed the teacher. Finally, the teacher played a soothing nature song, and we relaxed by lying down on the floor, immersing ourselves in the calming music and serene sounds of nature. As the music faded, we gradually awakened, like a sprout bursting forth from the earth, renewed and revitalized. At the end, salu graciously delivered a vote of thanksThe session came to a close with a vote of thanks from Jaseena Miss, NSS Programme Officer. The event was a treasure trove of knowledge and insights, enriching the lives of all who participate.I look forward to applying this knowledge in my future endeavors.
